Your Relationship
Many marriages hit rocky patches along the way, no matter how much in love the couple were to begin with. Some couples have unrealistic expectations or may not have discussed how they will deal with difficult situations such as finances or raising children.
You can improve your chances of achieving a solid relationship and a happy marriage by attending a pre-marriage program together. You will be shown skills and techniques to effectively communicate with each other and so avoid the risk of slanging matches or 'one-upmanship'.
The courses are a very good idea, but the choice is yours. You are not required to attend one.
If you ever do experience problems in your relationship, it's important to get help before things deteriorate too far.
Counsellors and mediators can help you to solve most issues as long as you seek help early enough.
